Graham, Robert C., Jr.
92, passed into the arms of his Lord peacefully on November 10, 2021, in St. Louis. He was born on August 18, 1929, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Robert C. and Wynonna Wynne Graham.
Bob grew up in Poplar Bluff and graduated as a proud Poplar Bluff mule. He graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He went on to serve in the United States Air Force after college and then settled in St. Louis. In 1960, he founded Graham & Peat Insurance Agency where he worked until his retirement in 1994. He was a top life insurance salesman for Aetna Life & Casualty for most of his career.
Bob married Helen (Hoagland) Graham in St. Louis in 1953. Helen predeceased Bob in 2014, after 60 years of marriage. Bob met and fell in love with Mary Kay (Hays) Graham in 2015, and they were happily married for the rest of his life. Bob was a friend to many. He loved to play any game in which he participated, including golf, tennis, handball, racquetball, and card games, especially bridge. He was a longtime member of Algonquin Golf Club and would consistently shoot his age or better. He was a fierce competitor who rarely lost a friendly wager. He had a passion for hunting and fishing that spanned his lifetime. A devout Christian, he served his church and his Lord in many roles. He was actively involved in Bible Study Fellowship for many years and led a weekly Bible study up to his death at the Gatesworth where he and Mary Kay lived. He was a member and Elder of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Bob is survived by his spouse Mary Kay Graham, his two sons Robert C. Graham III (Meredith) and Randall T. Graham, Sr. (Susie); his grandchildren, Jennifer Grassi (Eric), Randall T. Graham, Jr. (Lauren), Jessica McCarthy (Corey), Jason Graham (Brandi Jane), Kourtney Graham, and Kate Graham; and nine great-grandchildren, Hank, Georgia Kate, Sam, Mia, Mac, Anna Charles, Max, Liam, and Jane Carlisle.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill.
Services: Services for Bob will be private in accordance with his wishes.
