Meyer, Stephen F. 'Steve' fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Mon., Sept. 25, 2006.
Beloved husband of M. Kathleen Meyer (nee Hough); dear father of Stephen F. (Samantha) Meyer Jr., Toni Meyer and Jeanie (Lance) Jeans; dear brother of Mary Mehegan; dear grandfather of Ellyse and Donovan Meyer and Sarah Jeans; dear step-son of Rosemary Meyer; our dear uncle, cousin, dear brother-in-law and friend; he was preceded in death by parents, Walter H. Meyer and Lucille J. (Frank) Meyer and his beloved granddaughter, Catherine Meyer Jeans.
Mr. Meyer graduated from the St. Louis University School of Law in May 1964. He passed the Missouri Bar Examination and was admitted to practice in Missouri in Sept. 1964 and later that year was admitted to practice before the Federal Courts. In addition, Steve was awarded a Master of Arts in Political Science from St. Louis University in 1967 and taught Political Science at the Meramac campus of St. Louis Community College and Steve began his practice in St. Louis County and moved to Lincoln County in 1971 where he practiced law and operated a title company until 2003. He continued his law practice on a part-time basis until his passing.
He participated in the formation of the Lincoln Co. Rescue Squad, the Elsberry Residential Home, the Lincoln Co. Sheltered Workshop and the Industrial Development Corp. of Lincoln Co. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Troy Rotary Club and Troy Chamber of Commerce.Services: Memorial funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Sat., Sept. 30, 2006. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Thompson Dr., Troy, MO. Inurnment following in Catherine Meyer Jeans Memorial Garden, Troy, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to the Catherine Meyer Jeans Memorial Garden c/o the McCOY-BLOSSOM Funeral Home, 1304 Boone St., Troy, MO 63379, (636-528-8244). Friends may sing the on-line guest register at www.mccoyblossomfh.com.
