"You're in a better place I've heard a thousand times, but at least a thousand times I've rejoiced for you, but the reason why im broken, the reason why i cry is how long must I wait to be with you. I close my eyes and i see your face if homes where my heart is then im out of place....Lord wont you give me strength to make it through somehow. I've never been more homesick than now. In Christ there are no goodbyes. In Christ there is no end. So I'll hold on to Jesus with all that I have to see you again."

Greer Family,
I knew Vince since forever it seems, we went to Florida together, hung out on the weekends with all the same friends, had classes together. My heart broke for you when I heard the news of him. He was an amazing person and friend. I will never forget the memories we shared or the person he was. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Greer Family:
Words cannot express how deeply saddened I am after hearing about Vince. He was someone that I will never forget. Through all of his troubles he always was able to offer words of encouragement to me and make me laugh. I am so glad that I have saved all of his letters so that his words will always be a part of me. Vince is one of the reasons that I was passionate about becoming a lawyer and he supported that decision unconditionally. Imagine my surprise when I heard of his passing the same day I found out I passed the Bar. I pray for Vince and your family and take comfort in the fact that he is finally free and at peace. I don't know how much pain one family can endure, but I thank God that you all possess the strength and spirit to always find a way to get through these difficult times. My heart is broken with you. You are all in my heart and prayers more than you know. Vince, you will never be forgotten and I will carry your memory in my heart throughout my career. Thanks to you, I will never forget what I am fighting for.

Stan, I remember you as a young lad playing baseball. Your dad and my dad both worked at McDonnell Douglas. My dad went by the name of Dave. They would both always be at ABC watching each other's kids and grandkids playing ball. They were both so proud of all of the kids. I think about you and your family often. You all are in my family's thoughts and prayers.

Dear Family,
I am so sorry for the loss you feel and the deep hurt your hearts must be experiencing now. Please know that God will comfort you and guide you through what lies ahead. I have been best friends with Dorothy since I was 18 and spent a lot of time playing softball with Stan, Ronnie, Jack, Dwight and the crew. We had so much fun and at those games were Vince and Lindsay. Little lights always shining. So cute! I still see them in my memories. God will take care of Vince now and I pray that you all find peace and it stays with you always. HE will not fail you...ever.

Oh how the angels are rejoicing, as you enter into heaven with that Vince Greer smile, that we are all so familiar with. It's comforting to know that Jeremiah 29:11 has come to pass in full completion. Even though you cannot come back here to us we will someday go to be with you, until then, I am privileged to call you my friend. God Bless You Vince, All My Love, Susan

I'm at a loss for words, but just yesterday when I heard the story on the news, I told my husband all about Vince, and how I knew him when we were in school, and we were friends. I'm so sad that he's gone, but I know it's God's will. He will always be in my heart. I'll never forget who and what he was back then.

Vince you will be missed by so many. I remember watching my son Ronnie and your dad play baseball. But I also remember them teaching you to play baseball. You were little "Ronnie" out there. I told Jack, your uncle, looks like another Greer baseball player!! The baseball field is where we all lived practically. Stan and Kelly and family I have some sort of idea what you are going through because when my mom passed away I didn't think the hurt and emptiness would ever go away but they say it's worse with a child. I hope to never find out. My prayers and blessings are with you today and everyday. It is so good to know that Vince had found God. He's in the best place he can be. He can now watch out for all of you. May God comfort your hearts this day and everyday. Love Dorothy Grindstaff(formerly Greer)-(Atlanta)

If it was our will, we would have celebrated your freedom together here on earth. Maybe a float trip. Perhaps a game of catch. Maybe you and Stan and I could just go around in circles with our hockey sticks in the old driveway scoring goals at will on some poor imaginary goalie! You were always an inspiration and your smile would light a room and will be missed. I am sorry the world is so misguided and that you were denied the realization of your true potential. It was truely endless!! The best news of all, dear Vince, is it is NOT our will, but it is GOD's will, and He has decided to call you home. Please give Donna an extra hug for us all as we are sure she is embracing you even now. With faith in God, we will be with you both again.
Stan, Lindsay, Jenny, Kelly and family...we are praying for your hearts to mend in time. We are sure that your true faith in Jesus will fill the hole in your hearts with love and fond memories of Vince. We love you!Ron-Leanne-Cori-Cameron

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do and the God of peace shall be with you

Vince, you will be sorely missed. You made others around you so happy, you brought a smile to faces wherever you went. You just had a wonderful spirit about you, and you carried that with you as you went. No matter how sad someone was you could always make them laugh or smile. One thing I've learned from this is that us as a family and people in general just need to stop taking things and people for granted. I've learned that we can't always make everyone happy, and we can't go back and change the past. The past is the past, no we can't change it but we change how we see the past, and move on the best that we can. You have taught me in your untimely passing that you can never say I love you too much to people you really love. Stan, Kelly, Lindsay and family, I know this is a hard time for you guys but the best thing is that we have such a supportive family and we all love you so much, we will always be there to comfort you in your time of need. If there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask. I love you guys. Vince, I will see you again someday, I love you and always will.

Stan,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this tragic time. Seems like only yesterday our boys were playing together at BBQ's at the park or camping or just hanging out. Vince was a wonderful, loving son. Please find comfort in the fact that he's now at home in Heaven with Donna. My deepest condolences.

I remember you, Vince, as you journey on to glory. You probably didn't know me, but you knew my brother Nick well. I remember walking in a candle light vigil held for you to light the path of the dark days that were ahead. Now, you can rejoice in your room that was prepared especially for you in God's mansion. No better place to be. God bless you and your family as they celebrate your life. Your physical self will be missed greatly but your spirit lives forever on earth as in heaven.
Sincerely,
