Ronald Kolady Obituary

Sportsman. Philosopher. Beloved Family man.
Ronald Frank Kolady, born Aug. 10, 1934 in Chicago, passed away peacefully on the Birthday of Our Lord, Dec. 25, 2016, at home with his family by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy and two children, Timothy and Susannah, along with two grandchildren, Caroline Ellen and Thomas Ronald.
He was the son of Irene Virginia & Ronald Frank Kolady and brother of Lorraine (Kolady) Kedzie. Ron's primary passions were his family, his faith, Notre Dame football and the outdoors.
He best enjoyed fishing the streams and lakes of Michigan and with his son in Wyoming. He also loved gardening - creating special sunflower sanctuaries for his daughter.
He was known as the neighborhood "Mr. Fix-it" on South Nottawa Street where he lived for more than 40 years.
Growing up in Sturgis, Mich., he was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and various civic and sports-related organizations. He attended Sturgis Public Schools, University of Michigan, University of Arizona, completing his studies at the University of Notre Dame. He spent most of his adult life associated in business with his father at the Kolady News Agency. He later retired from Ram Plastics as director of purchasing & production.
He spent his final years in Historic Mariemont, Ohio, serving on the Architectural Review Board. He was a member of Holy Cross-Immaculata Catholic Church where Memorial Masses in his honor can be directed: Holy Cross-Immaculata Church, 30 Guido St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. A private family service was held at St. Peter & Paul Cathedral, Indianapolis, Ind.

A good friend. We grew up together in Sturgis, when to grade school, high school together. When I married and moved away, I lost touch with Ron., But on occasion I would call on the phone and we would talk about old times.
A good friend, and I will miss him.
