Lucille A. Braun "Lucie" Lund

1927 - 2024

Lucille "Lucie" Amaryllis Braun Lund died January 9, 2024 at Cottonwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Laramie, WY. She was 96 years old and had been living with Alzheimer's disease for the past 8 years.

Lucie was born on September 7, 1927 in Hector, MN to Geneva and William Braun. She was the fourth of five children.

She married Paul Richard Lund in Minneapolis, MN in 1949. They had three children - Tom, Teri, and Dick. Paul died in 2003. In their 54 years together they worked hard, raised a family, pursued an active and fun-loving lifestyle, involved themselves in church activities at Gethsemane Lutheran, traveled widely, and maintained a beautiful home and garden in Hopkins, MN.

Lucie was a talented floral designer, working in that profession for 70 years until the age of 90. She was blessed to have an employer who was willing to allow her to keep working even after Alzheimer's began to take a toll. She was also an accomplished golfer, skier, and Master Gardener. She was quite proud of the fact that she was able to continue skiing into her late 80's taking her last memorable run at Steamboat at age 89.

For the final year of her life, Lucie lived near her daughter, Teri Lund, in Laramie, WY.

Lucie is survived by her three children, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Her remains will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Paul, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in St. Paul, MN. A memorial service will take place at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Hopkins, MN in the spring of 2024.
