Robert P. "Bob" Heman

1952 - 2025

Robert "Bob" Heman, age 73 of Farmington, MN, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN after his kidney cancer relapsed and metastasized to other areas. He was surrounded by his family's love.

Bob was born in Tulsa, OK, November 26, 1952, to Robert and Dorothy Heman. Bob grew up in Fort Dodge, IA and graduated FD High School in 1971. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Chris Henrichs on July 25, 1972, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge, IA. He attended Iowa Central Community College, graduating with an associate degree in Electronics. Bob worked for Centel Telephone Co. when he was transferred to Minnesota in 1982 and retired after 27 years with them. After a few months of retirement, he became employed at the new local Target store. He was there almost 10 years before he decided to work for Tailwind Technologies Aerospace Welding in shipping and receiving. They became his new "work" family.

Bob gave his heart and soul to whatever he was passionate about and will be remembered for his dedication and service to students, staff, and families during his 11 years as a school board member.

Bob had a deep love for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a kid at heart always telling a great dad joke, playing a prank, or just trying to get you to crack a smile. He was tremendously proud of his family, especially his five grandchildren (and even a few "adopted" grandchildren).

Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Christine "Chris"; son, Patric (Amanda); daughter, Sara (Eric) Matter; grandsons: Riley, Nathan, and Tyler; granddaughters: Taylor and Brooke; as well as two sisters: Jeanne (Gary) McDonald and Michelle (Michael) Telenko and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Dorothy and his brother Tim.

Bob's life was full of generosity and heart. His competitive spirit, humor, and deep love for his family and friends will be remembered forever.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 16725 Highview Ave., Lakeville, MN with a reception to follow. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Saturday. Graveside services will be held in Fort Dodge, IA at a later date.
