I have been privileged to have worked with Judge Backstrom when he was with Bryan, Nelson, then when he was a Judge and most recently as a private attorney. He was a very intelligent man and I truly admired him. As Supervisor of the Jackson County Chancery Court Dept. I can honestly say he will be greatly missed.

Judge Backstrom was very proud of his grandson who played on my son, Coach Randy Haarala's baseball team. He came to see him play on many occasions and was very supportive of him.

I was taken back to hear the news.
I first served the two of you about 12 years ago at LB's Steakhouse at the Grand Casino. You became regulars, you became my call party, and you both became my friends. I will definitly miss "Judges'" courteous smile and constant positive attitude. Mrs.Anita, my personal condolenses to you and your family.
