Jimmy Dwight [J.D.] Stuart traveled home to meet the Lord Thursday, July 14, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Jimmy was the son of the late Argyle Paul Stuart and Sylvia Howell Stuart. He was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi November 21, 1947, and died in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, after a long struggle with Lymphoma and Lung Cancer. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and received the Vietnam Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation with Gallantry Cross. After receiving an honorable discharge September 1967; shortly thereafter, he began working for Mississippi Power Company, Gulfport, MS., retiring in 2001 as a Power Systems Coordinator. An avid traveler, Jimmy's real and abiding passions were his family and Bill Glass Prison Ministries.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Paul Stuart.
Survivors include his loving wife Carole Marie; sister Debbie Stuart Gautier and her three children, Amber Suzanne Haywood, Jacob Henry Paul and Joshua Ely Stuart Gautier; two daughters, Leigh Michele Stuart Skrnich (Dale Anthony Skrnich) and Stacey Marie Culver; three sons, Christoper Michael Paul Stuart (Carly Diane Stuart), Craig Robert Culver Jr. (Rusty) (Kristen Voy Culver), and Ryan James Culver; thirteen grandchildren, Laurel Melissa Leigh Skrnich Rodriguez, Haley Susannah Leigh Skrnich, Daniel Anthony Skrnich, Ana Isabella Leigh Skrnich, Emily Diane Stuart, Nathaniel Dwight Stuart, Silas Christopher Stuart, Catherine Olivia Stuart, Michael Benjamin Stuart, LeighAnna Joy Stuart, Craig Robert Culver III (Trey), Carson David Culver, Case Matthew Culver, one great grandchild, Naomi Araceleigh Rodriguez, cousins, Danny Bryant and Lucia Bryant Logan and a host of other cousins.
Please join us celebrating his life on Monday morning, July 18, 2016, from 11:30 am until 1 pm, with a 1 pm funeral service all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Home, 911 Porter Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
