Joyce Nevers Obituary

Mrs. Joyce Lorraine Nevers

August 7, 1926 - May 4, 2013

Long Beach

Mrs. Joyce Lorraine Nevers of Long Beach, Mississippi passed away on May 4th 2013 at her residence in Long Beach. Mrs. Nevers was 86 years old. Her Immediate family members were all with her at her time of passing and joined in around her to tell her they loved her and it was ok to let go and be with our Lord.

Mrs. Nevers was preceded in death by her husband, James Ridgeway Nevers; her father, Isles T. Moffitt; her mother, Mrs. Myrtle Moffitt; and one younger sister, Mrs. Velma Roy all of Crowley Louisiana.

Mrs. Nevers is survived by her three children, Ms. Sandra Rayburn of Long Beach, Mississippi; Mr. Randy Nevers of Gulf Shores, Alabama; and her youngest son, Mr. Dwaine Nevers of Long Beach Mississippi. She is also survived by her son in laws, Mr. John McCoy of Long Beach, Mississippi; daughter in law, Mrs. Carine M. Nevers of Gulf Shores, Alabama; one sister, Mrs. Aline Guidry of Crowley, Louisiana; and one brother Mr. Charles Moffitt of Eunice, Louisiana. Mrs. Nevers has three grandchildren, Renee Rayburn and her fiance' Mr. Rick Shay of Gulfport, Mississippi, Michelle Calliham of Long Beach, Mississippi; and one grandson, Thierry Reverse' of Pensacola, Florida; seven great grandchildren, Brina Wahl, Blake Nabors, Maci Calliham, Trace Smith, Anneliese Gil, Joseph Reverse', and Aidan Reverse'. She also has one great great granddaughter, Jesie B. Nabors, who actually celebrated her very first birthday on this very day. Mrs. Nevers has seven nieces and three nephews all living in Louisiana at this time.

Memaw, Mamaw, Aunt Joyce and of course, MaMa, as she was known to family members, touched the lives of many. She was a strong willed but loving woman. No one loved boiled crabs more than she did, nor make a pot of homemade seafood gumbo like her. She loved her family and her friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, but never forgotten, she will live on forever in our hearts and souls.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, Mississippi. The funeral service will be held at 9:45am on Thursday, May 9, 2013 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Sandy, Randy, Dewayne
I'm thinking of you all at this time. I was out of town and hated I missed the service. Your mother was an awesome woman, who had a contagious laughter.I can still here her laughing and when she laughed it always made be laugh. I wished I would have had one last time to hear that roaring laughter. Anyone that knew her....knows what I'm talking about. She will forever be a part of my childhood , as will her loving daughter Sandy and her sons Randy and Dewayne. Peace be with you all my dear friends.
