Maureen Hurley Broussard
March 18, 1940 - August 10, 2025
Clearwater, Florida - Maureen "Micki" Hurley Broussard passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on August 10, 2025. She was born in Bridgeport, CT on March 18, 1940, to Edward D. and Anna C. Hurley. Maureen was the 3rd of 6 children. She grew up in Ayer, MA. and graduated from Rose Hawthorne High School in Concord, MA.
Maureen married Joseph J. Broussard Sr. in May of 1960. They travelled extensively during Joseph's 23-year military career and settled in his hometown of Biloxi, MS when he retired in May of 1977. They were married for 34 years and had 3 children. Maureen worked at Gulf Coast Medical Center in the Human Resources department for 20 years, retiring in 2007. She made so many lasting, meaningful and lifelong relationships there and was known as someone who would go the extra mile to help anyone in need.
The family was very active in their church and community. Maureen was a member of Nativity BVM Parish and later, Cedar Lake Christian Assembly Church in Biloxi, MS. She was active in the Women's Ministry, taught classes and was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. One of Maureen's favorite memories and bucket list adventure was going on a cruise to Alaska with her daughters, members of her church and dear friends.
In 2018 Maureen moved to Clearwater, FL with her daughter, where she lived until her passing. She was a member of Anchor Church in Safety Harbor, FL and was active in many prayer groups. She served in the food pantry at her church and was a self-proclaimed "prayer warrior".
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Anna Hurley, siblings Marie Waiksnis, Anne Horgan, Eddie Hurley, Joe Hurley, and husband Joseph J. Broussard Sr. She is survived by her 3 children, Michelle Kays, Denise Broussard and Joseph J. Broussard Jr., her younger brother Terry Hurley and his family. Maureen had five grandchildren Janara Martin, Kelsey Kays, Michelle Kays, Shawn Kays and Kimberly Youngblood and seven great-grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.
Maureen's last wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes spread in a few special places in Biloxi, MS. She did not want a memorial service, but her children ask if you knew her and feel inspired to do so, please mention or honor her at your own church services or gatherings. She touched so many lives through her faith and loyalty as a friend. She asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to her favorite Gulf Coast charity: New Life Disaster Relief: 3586 Sangani Blvd, Suite L 334, D'Iberville, MS 39540 or @
