Billy W. Harrison

Harrison, Billy W., age 78 of Interlachen died Wednesday May 19, 2004 at Putnam Community Medical Center following an extended illness. The Ft. Lauderdale native had lived in Interlachen for the past 16 years coming from Royal Palm Beach. He was a member of the Assembly of God in Orange Springs and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He had worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. Mr. Harrison enjoyed woodworking and crafts, water skiing and fishing. He grew up with the Alabama Gang (The Allisons) and worked as a mechanic with Richard Petty in his early years of his racing. Billy was also a follower of NASCAR and an avid Dale Jarrett fan. He was an exceptional Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Winifred Harrison, Son & daughter-in-law: Michael Harrison Sr. and his wife Sandra of Interlachen, FL, Daughters & Sons-in law: Margie & John Burnor of Royal Palm Bch. and Linda & Leonard O'Neill of Cooper City, FL, 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren. Memorial Services will be 5:00 pm. Saturday May 22, 2004 at the Assembly of God in Orange Springs, FL with Pastor John Cambers officiating. No Calling hours are scheduled. Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home & Crematory in Interlachen were in charge of arrangements.
