Caroline Geist

Caroline Jean Geist left this world on July 18th, 2023. She was born on November 22, 1968, to Mr. & Mrs. Tom and Linda Burton in Miami Florida. As a young girl she was quiet and determined who brought joy, love, and kindness to her family and friends. Caroline graduated from Killian H.S. in 1986 and went on to receive her bachelor's degree from FSU. She was a Nole through and through. Later she received a masters from FIU and her MPH at University of Miami where she also taught classes.

She married Wyatt Geist in 1994. Caroline and Wyatt later had 2 wonderful sons: Garrett and Connor Geist. She was a dedicated mother who loved taking care of her "two boys" and was always selflessly putting them before herself. She also provided a warm home for many, including her two unofficial children Ken and Carlos.

During her life Caroline was always very active, going to the gym, jogging, and doing palates in her free time. Unfortunately, she had health issues in the last years of her life but still found life worth living and encouraged us all with her strength and determination. She would often recant about her early years sailing with her father in the Keys or playing games with her sister Emily on their unsuspecting "Granny" in Texas. One could never mention Caroline without acknowledging her deep affection for animals. Her love for animals was boundless and she always had a soft spot for furry companions. She volunteered at animal shelters and donated whenever she could. She loved two of her pets more than the rest, Minnie who is still with us, and Dharma who is no doubt playing with Caroline at this time.

True friendship meant the world to Caroline, she will miss all of you that supported her, loved her and visited her. Caroline Geist, may you find eternal peace and sail in the vast, open horizons of heaven where your spirit will forever be free. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Caroline.
