Mr. Kornblut was extremely memorable. I have thought about him often. He taught us 12 year old kids things that teachers never taught. I have never forgotten it. I showed us films that are never shown. Taught us how governments use so much propoganda in their teachings. He was Great!

To this day, I mention Dan Kornblut in my daily conversations! He left such an imprint on my life! I will always remember him as one of my favorite people! He was an asset to our community and our North Shore School District #112. One of his former employees is now our Superintendent. Only shows you that Dan's influence must have done something because this Superintendent is doing the greatest job that North Shore District #112 ever had! I pray that you are at peace Dan. You are truly missed. Sincerely, Linda Iovino

He was my homeroom teacher in 7th grade and we were his first class at Elm Place and his first class as a permanent teacher. He was a special gift for all of us..He made learning fun and made us WANT to learn more, not just about Social Studies but about life...I kept in touch with him as long as I could, years...and I'll never forget him and his love for all of his kids young and grown...God Bless you Dan! Dear Jane and Sons,
Danny was a genuine ray of sunshine. He was friendly and genial whenever we met: as a parent at his sons' conferences, as a host to guest colleagues visiting his school, and as a an encouraging leader on the softball field. I will miss but never forget him.

Dear Jane, and Family,
As an 8 year old girl, I first met Danny when he and my mom taught together at Elm Place, and were co-youth group leaders at our synagogue. Years later, Danny hired me, and I had the good fortune to grow as an educator under his tutelage. Danny's warmth, wisdom, genuine concern, and of course his ever present dimples will forever be seared within me. Thank you Danny for all the memories. With love, Debbie Miller

Dear Jane and Family--
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your loving husband, father, and grandpa. He was, quite simply, the best principal I ever worked for: committed, supportive, generous, and FUN! At Elm Place, I truly began to learn how to teach kids; Dan was a huge part of that and what I am as an educator today. I still have his "Attitude" pin and wear it with love and pride. Great memories: Buffo's pizza day, Dan-isms, the most hilarious faculty meetings ever, buying our band an accordion at the flea market (!!!?!), concerts, and his dropping in on rehearsals to play whatever he picked in the percussion section. Priceless! Thank you for sharing him with all of us. With deep affection, Teri Dobbs

Dear Jane and Family,
I was very sad to hear of Dan's passing. He was a great guy to work for as secretary at Elm Place School. He promoted me in everyway. He made it fun to work and knew the meaning of being kind, generous and community. He was very good to ALL Veterans, especially Flag Day. He was very kind to my Dad and my family. He will continue to be in my prayers as well as your family.

To Jane and the Boys,
Thank you for sharing Dan with all of us! Besides being the best teacher I ever had, Dan inspired me to follow in his footsteps. Since the day I ran into Jane and Dan on our Crystal Cruise, I embarked on my new career: teaching!!! Thank you for everything you did for me! You will always be in my memory.

To Dan's family: An old fraternity brother from Bradley University just notified me of Dan's passing. Although it has been many many years since I saw Dan, I have periodically thought of him. He recruited me into the TEP fraternity and was one of my closest college friends. During my senior year 5 of us lived in two apartments in a 4-unit building and we had many good times. Dan took an interest in other people and enjoyed sports. My sincerest sympathy to the family.
Always smiling!

Dan coined the phrase “Believe, Achieve, Succeed, It Starts With You!” at Elm Place School. His showmanship and love for education far surpassed the educators of today. He was my mentor and created the teacher I am today. I will always have a place in my heart for Danny!
