Daniel Laratro Obituary

Daniel Laratro, 73, of Hallandale Florida passed away early afternoon on the May 27, 2022 surrounded by his loving wife of 49 years and his family as he returned to his eternal home.

The funeral service will be held at Fred Hunters (6301 Taft St). The wake will be on Wednesday evening June 1, 2022 from 4:00-8:00PM. Funeral Services will take place On Thursday morning June 2, 2022 following mass at Little Flower Church, Hollywood Fl 33020 at 10:30AM.

Daniel was born in Flushing, New York on January 20, 1949. He lived in Lloyd Harbor with his parents, Joseph and Marnie Laratro and brother Thomas. He attended Cold Spring Harbor High School, where he made extensive friendships and became well known for his gregarious personality before relocating to South Florida in his early twenties. It was here where he was introduced to the love of his life Deidre, whom he swept off her feet and married soon after. They then gave birth to their son Joseph and their daughter Marnie two years later.

Daniel and Deidre remained the best "team" anyone ever met, creating a thriving garbage company, Waste-X. Together they raised two successful children who remained involved in their daily lives. Jospeh Laratro established Tandem Interactive Inc. and married Lena DeMarco, a PA at Mt Sinai Hospital. They have two sons named Joey and Giovanni, who brought Daniel endless pride and happiness, as he was able to share the joys of sport fishing, cinema, and auto enthusiasm with them throughout the years. His daughter Marnie Laratro, a clinical psychologist at Joe DiMaggio Hospital married Marcos Cavalcante Jr. and they have three children, Olivia, Luca, and Capri. Daniel loved his family and was entertained by his granddaughters creativity and cheered his grandson Luca's soccer dreams.

Daniel's life was exemplary, representing the best in business, family, and friendship. Daniel was a one in a million kind of man and will never be replaced. He spent his life bringing joy and laughter to others. He will be missed until the day we meet again in Heaven.
