I couldn't believe it when I heard that Dave was no longer with us, my heart hurt when I heard this.
Dave was my first guitar teacher and he was amazing. I remember when he taught me how to play Landslide, Wonderwall, Indigo girls songs, so many beautiful memories of the times we spent together and when he would play, I was in awe. Dave had a heart of gold, he was truly a kind and special man who is missed by all. Sorry we lost touch but more than that I'm so sad that you are no longer here. Your memory will live with me forever.

Hey Dave, we had some really really good times on stage with Vendetta. Our version, for those couple of years we had it, was You, Goodfriend (RIP), John Franks and me. Those were a couple really memorable years in my life playing with that combo. From Key West gigs to fly-outs in Indiana with The Rascals and everywhere in between. That was cool! And You made it happen. We all appreciated the love you showed playing your instruments, working in the business and for us. You were a true talent up there and I will miss playing with you greatly. There will never be another Dave Perdue!!

I knew Dave from friends in North Miami and places like Pieces of Eight. Ran across him again at The Button South. Great player, super guy and hard worker. One time he was in 3 different band all playing the Button at the same time. Dave was a great musician and hard working dude. Always cool when I ran into him. Rock on dude and tell Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray I said hi.
Dave will definitely be missed.

I first met Dave many years ago when I worked at the Treehouse in Hallandale. Then quite a number of years later, I met him when I was with my son Chris, who also loves to play guitar. Dave was such a genuine soul besides a great artist. Dave touched many hearts in his life in a positive and profound way. I'd say that's quite an accomplishment because not too many people get to do that. He will be missed dearly by myself and my son. RIP Dave Perdue.

My very sweet, ultra talented and special Nephew, David. Life is not the same without you. We shared our love of music and especially our love of our family. I still have the guitar you gave your cousin, Kimberly..I loved to jam with you. You taught me as much as I taught you about music and life. You now join your mother, Carolyn (my sister-in-law) and your father, John (my brother-in-law)and grandma, Mary and Poppa Hat. I love you and will always miss your smile, your talent and your love. To my friend Aggie Perdue and the family: I never met David, but after reading the many entries and wishes in this Guest Book, I can see he was a good soul with talent and generosity, and obviously had people who loved him. My heart goes out to all who need comfort and I am so sorry about this tragedy.

David's father and my mom were friends for a very long time. John told me that David played guitar. So I started taking lessons from him at a young age 13 I believe. I had a hard time reading music so he told me to play songs Every Saturday I would go to John p Purdue house and take a lesson with him for many years You would write upscales fast-forward and rewind songs that Asked to to learn to play. David you are great friend and teacher rest in peace. I plan to carry on the licks that you taught me for many years. My condolences to the family.

I first met Dave when he was 15 and we have been friends ever since. He went on to form Vendetta with Cody and Tony after I left music to go to law school. One day, after I was stressing with my practice, Dave told me I needed to start playing again and he GAVE me a nice guitar. Been playing since then and would always track him down and visit when I was in town. I was at his wedding and he was at mine and I last saw him 3 years ago. My heart is broken and I loved him. Be there for his Daughter and Bercy.

I met Dave in the Treehouse days when his band played on the small stage. He was younger than me and he always asked me for advice as if I was his big brother. I gave him my true thoughts for right and wrong and he thanked me. I haven't seen him in about 10 years but I always hoped he would be ok. It's so sad to hear this . I wish I could have seen him before this tragedy . He gave me advice also, he said go get a Tubescreamer and I did . I told him to be loyal and he did. I told him its the right thing to do and he will be missed

You will be missed by family and friends. He was a great guitar player and individual. Always had a smile and nice things to say about the people he worked with at the Fabulous Tiki Bar at Holiday Isle in Islamorada. His band was well liked and had a great time dancing to their music. RIP Dave and my thoughts and prayers go out to his daughter, Bercy and the rest of his family. Iwalani Reeder

I was one his students back when he lived in his NMB apartment. Dave was tremendous guitar player and cool guy. His guitar lessons and his playing style will be imprinted in my mind for life. To this day I use his scale practice techniques. I cant believe he's gone.Haven't seen him in years and was actually thinking of contacting him just days ago. This is all too strange to hear of him now under these circumstances. His knowledge will be greatly missed. Life cut way too short. Best wishes to family.

Dave was a very good friend, he and his band layed the World Famous Tiki Bar for me when I hired the Bands. Dave had that wonderful laughter and smiles, he was a great guitarist & Band leader for Vendetta. I loved hi and his Band I thought about him all the time. I will really miss him J.R Reeder Holiday isle, Dave and i had many laughs together, he always talked about how much he loved his daughter. I gave him alot of fatherly advice. He loved his wife alot but he loved playing Rock & Roll, he was very good at it, I only hired the best and his Band was one of the best because of his leadership. I miss him all ready. J.R.

I worked with him and also took many guitar lessons from him back in the day.
He was not only gifted musically, but was always very active teaching guitar while being in a few different bands at the same time.
That's the Dave that i knew,i envied not only his playing but his strong work ethic,he was definitely a positive role model for me locally and i'm still applying what he taught me everytime i pick up a guitar.
RIP Dave

David was a very nice person and will be missed by many. I met him through my sisters back in the 1980's. I wanted to learn how to play guitar because I liked watching MTV and listening to bands like Judais Preist, Metallica, Megadeth, Motley Crue and the list goes on. David found out about my interest in music and gave me my first electric guitar when i was 8 years old. I can remember going over his house with my sister and seeing all his equipment and hearing him play. Then he pulled a guitar out of his closet and gave it to me. It was an Ibanez with a tremelo bar. I will never forget the way he gave me that guitar in such a nice way. I will miss you David!
