Lt./Col. Doak S. Campbell Jr.

Campbell, Lt./Col. Doak S., Jr. (Ret) 88, of Boca Raton, passed away October 1, 2003. Born February 28, 1915 in Conway, Ark. He was the son of the late Doak S. Campbell (Former President of Florida State University) and Helen Gray Campbell was a graduate of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. and served in the US Air Force for 23 years, first as a pilot and later as an administrator. Upon completion of his military career in 1964, he worked for The State of Alabama in Montgemory until he permanently retired to Boca Raton in 1978. Col. Campbell is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Mary C. Campbell, his son Doar S. Campbell III of Delray Beach, FL, a daughter Helen Jo Crawford of Charlotte, NC, two granddaughters Donna Beinstein and Marsha Bailey, 6 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Samuel, Micayla, Chase, Clay, Paige, and one sister Caroline Thomas of Oak Harbor, Washington.
