16 years ago my life changed forever...just to hear your voice, tell me how proud you are of me, laugh with you, cherish our time together...it never gets easier. I still miss you more than anything, and what I would give to spend just one more day with you...I love you and miss you so very much!

Papa Eddie,
I know i never got to meet you. It would mean the world to me if i did, But i have heard so much great things about you. I would give up my entire life just to spend 1 day with you, get to know you MYSELF! Without people describing your actions and wonderful charming traits and i will forever wait til the moment i get to see you up there. Theres a rainbow that awaits for me too! For my kids, for my grandkids, for my family!

Dad,
You missed a huge milestone this year. It was Malia's Bat Mitzvah. I know you would have been there right beside her, lifting her up, smiling with nachas. WE miss you so much, and your grandchildren all carry on your humor, telling jokes, and making people smile. After 14 years, it is still really tough. I will miss you forever, until we meet again.

Blake, Jason and Debbie,
I am so sorry to hear of Eddie's passing. I have so many memories of him cracking me up as a kid, and still as an adult. He was a man that brought a lot of joy to everyone he encountered. Around him, you always know you were with a friend, someone who truly cared. I send you all my love.

It's still so hard to believe that I am writing a tribute to Ed Diamond, a man that first touched my life when I was 10 years old. Even as a child, I knew the light of God shone in Eddie--how else can you explain a spirit so warm, so endearing, so intoxicating? To my dear friends, Jason and Blake--I am so sorry that you have to endure this--surely though you'd never be ready to experience a loss this great. Take comfort and pride in the fact that only a truly distinguished man could generate such moving tributes from so many people--and you both had the blessing of having him as your father.

All my love and God Bless both of you

Eddie,
It was a pleasure everytime we were together. You were always so full of love and laughter. Like I have told Blake I have only ever met one other man like you in this world and he was my hero...my beloved Uncle Ed! Must run in the name. I know you were so very proud of Blake and I am so happy to have witnessed the wonderful bond the two of you shared. May you rest in peace! Lots of love!

Although I was only given the honor of knowing Ed for a short period of time, it is easier now to understand how one person can have such a large effect on another. He was such a great presence. I am so sorry for your loss but know that you can find solace in all of the amazing memories that you have ... hang onto every one. We are always here for you and send you our love.

Here’s one- A skeleton walks into a bar and says to the bartender, “Give me a beer and a mop.” Here’s another- One cannibal says to the other, “Gee, I hate my mother-in-law.” The other cannibal answers, “Well then, try the potatoes.” You will not meet a person with a quicker wit and funnier sense of humor. You can’t think of Eddie and not have a smile come to your face. He will be truly missed, but never forgotten.

Gone but not forgotten
Why did he leave us so quickly and quietly?
I remember when he first came to Garden City Elementary. I was cleaning the front door glass. He spoke to me as he came in. He came back and pointed to spot I missed then smiled and said "okay" as he walked away.
Aes time passed, whenever he visited, he would hug and kiss me on the cheeks, chat for a while then be on his way.
I didn't know Mr. Diamond very long but it seemed as though I knew him for years.
He's a person that grew on you; his smile was loved.

Blake, Debbie, Jason and Robin,
I was so sorry to hear of Eddie's passing. He certainly meant a lot to my Allie and was so special to her, as he was to me. I will miss not seeing him and talking to him when I visit in FL. He had such wit and always made everyone feel comfortable with his many stories and his concern for people in general. He was a special man and will be missed by all, but you have been left with wonderful memories which will ease the pain and sorrow in time.

Ed-We started out on our journey together as the best of friends and we finished it exactly the same way. Through our years together we shared loads of love, laughter & tears of both sadness & joy as well as the love for our 4 children. I know that "you" knew how much I loved you. I am very grateful for the time we shared together in this world-until I see you again in the next one. I will continue to watch over our children for the both of us. Deb

After trying to get pregnant for ten years, Molly Diamond finally was able to have a prescious son, named Eddy. He was his parents pride and joy and always was treated as a special gift. He who brought joy to his parents and family was somehow chosen to bring a bit of happiness to all he met. Eddy was a special person who no matter what happened, he laughed and joked. He always looked on the bright side and brought love and humor to his family.
He grew up working in Diamond's Hardware store. Everyone in the neighborhood knew that if they went to Diamonds, they would not only get the hardware they needed but also walk out with a joke or a smile. I think Eddy thought that his real occupation was to make everyone laugh. We, his family, are broken hearted to lose him but we hope that he will go back to his family now in Heaven. Hopefully, his parents will have their prescious son back. Eddy was there on the day I was born and will forever be in my heart. He will be missed but there are many good memories to console us. His children were his greatest gift to the world and each one of them has a little bit of Dad in them. So remember children, look at the brightside and be happy that you had a wonderful Dad and a family that loves you.

Daddy, what can I say? You lived a life of true happiness consisting of wit, laughter, smiles, and jokes! Everyone who knew you, loved you. All of the lives you touched in this world were blessed with your humor. Your famous quote was from the movie "Folks". It was, "I'm happy!" And I believe deep down inside that you really were. You lived life to the fullest, and always followed your heart. Dad, you will be missed by countless people, and I aspire to be just like you when I grow up!

Robin & Family,
Your dad was truly one of a kind! A very special man, who never met a stranger. All who spent time with him enjoyed every second of it... his wit, laughs, and attitude of life. You should all feel honored of the impression he left on others. May we all bring such happiness and kindness to those who cross our paths in this journey of life.
With my deepest sympathy,
Stephanie Clegg

EDDIE!!!! You will be missed but never forgotten. I will never forget meeting you for the first time in NY. Having beers with you and Marc while working at Diamond's Hardware and out of the blue you falling to the floor (Chevy Chase impersonation) while saying "Live from NY. It's Saturday night!" and the time when I was getting ready to catch my flight back to Tampa and you put your arm around me and said "Jim you will always have a place to stay in NY even if you dump my daughter". All future beers will be in your honor. Thanks for the laughs and memories. I now have 2 pics of us together from the Chicago Blues Festival on my desk. I love you and miss you.

Robin,
So sorry for your greatest lost and the fact that I could not make it during your time of need. I tried but flights just could not get me there in time. My thoughts go out to you and I am here if you ever need a shoulder.
