Jack Schlossberg Obituary

Schlossberg, Jack passed away on August 23rd after a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis, his sons Brent and Billy, his brother Neil, his step sons, Michael and Robert Settler, his daughter in laws, Brenda Schlossberg, Roberta Willet, Mona, Susan and Cissy Settler. He was the son of the late Anna and Joseph Schlossberg. "Poppa Jack", as he was known by his ten adoring grandchildren will always remember the wonderful times they spent with him. Ryan, Kevin, Corey, Sean, Summer, Chloe, Lauren, Julia Settler and Dylan and Dana Schlossberg were his special grandchildren that brought light into his life! Jack served as an Airforce Captain during World War II. He was an attorney and certified public accountant and will be missed by his many clients and friends. Services are at Riverside Chapel, Tuesday , August 24th at 11:15 AM at 76th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, New York City. Interment is at New Montefiore Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1 Executive Blvd., Suffern, New York 10901. The family will be sitting shiva at 2 Oakspring Drive, West Nyack, New York.

You will be so missed. I can't even attempt to tell of the inspiration and influence you have had on my life and my family's life.

Your love of life and good spirit will be passed on to my girls. The Settlers will never forget.

We met Jack and Phyllis on a cruise in April of this year. It was love at first sight. We were inseparable on the ship. In July, we were houseguests at their Hamptons home.

Jack was immediately approachable. A warm, gentle guy who just seemed to glide smoothly through life. Unflappable under all circumstances.

As short a time as we knew him, it was manifest that he enjoyed each moment of his life, and appreciated how wonderfully full it was. He was a giver with profound generosity to all who touched him. His devotion to Phyllis and his family was huge. Jack was HUGE, in his off-handed easy manner.

We miss you and truly regret having you for such a short time. But Jack, my friend, it was 'quality' time.

I look forward to seeing you again at that great golf course in the sky. Godspeed Buddy...
