James Tall Obituary

Tall, James (Jim) Anthony, August , born March 11, 1964, 48 of Oakland Park, FL, formerly of Calvert Beach, MD, passed away unexpectedly on June 1, 2012, at his home. Born and raised on the Chesapeake Bay, he loved the beach, crabbing, looking for shark's teeth, the family dog Yetti, and a ruthless game of cribbage. Graduated from Calvert Sr. High, Strayer University - BS, Ashford University - MBA, City College - Registered Nurse. SPC Tall served his country for 8 years, Germany - MI armor crewman, USAR, Army National Guard - 92A, 2nd PLT, 356th CS CO w/numerous awards. Jim was pre-deceased by his father Robert E. Tall; survivors include his mother Gay Tall, sister Roberta (Dan) Morton, brother Ben (Debbie) Tall, sister Robin (John) Hogan, brother Grover (Maria) Tall and many nieces and nephews. A full honors ceremony will be performed by the U.S. Army National Guard at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL on Fri., August 3 at 1:45 pm, use lane #3. Jim's love of animals led him to Elayne Boosler's "Tails Of Joy". In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in James Tall's name to www.tailsofjoy.net. Retired from the Social Security Administration in Washington, DC, then moved to FL as a Realtor, later becoming a RN. He loved comedy, good movies, working out at the gym, music, a good book, the Army, his friends and family and his seven cats. His larger than life personality touched many lives, leaving a trail of love and beautiful memories. We celebrate the time we shared together, you were a free spirit dancing a bolero in the breeze - safe passage on your new journey, our love will guide your way.

Just heard the news today of Jim's passing, cant believe it. Jim was my co-worker many years ago at the VA in Washington DC, he was such a happy person, always laughing. My condolences to the family. RIP Jim.
