Jerry Rosenbaum Obituary

On May 6, 2023, Jerry "JR" Rosenbaum passed peacefully, after a determined four-year battle with complications from Guillain-Barre Syndrome. He was 70 years old.

JR was born in Bayside, Queens, NY, and was raised there by his parents, Bob and Adele Rosenbaum. In adulthood, he worked his way up in the sales profession until he eventually built his own successful book wholesale company, JR Trading Co. Inc., which he ran in New Jersey until his retirement.

JR was the loving husband of Rebecca Lee. Over 24 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling, dancing, wining and dining. They appreciated the arts, from museums to ballet to theater. JR easily made friends everywhere he went, with his gregarious personality and sense of humor.

JR was also the loving father of Barry, Lauren, and Emily Rosenbaum. He was endlessly proud of his children's hard work and successes. He was always willing to give advice and support, and never shied away from a dad joke. ("If a seagull flies over the sea, what flies over the bay? A bagel!") He was delighted to become a grandfather to Tegan Hendrickson, whose photos brought him joy even on the hardest days.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation to the American Diabetes Association in JR's memory. As a type 1 diabetic, this charity was especially close to his heart.
