John Wilkat Obituary

Wilkat, John Albert, 36, son of Albert J. Wilkat and Melba Jo (Hein) Wilkat joined the angels and were called to his eternal home on March 9, 2004. Born September 22, 1967 in St. Louis, MO. Educated in the Broward County School System and was the first Downes Syndrome student to graduate with an educable degree. Afflicted with cerebral palsy at an early age, he lived a full and happy life with an ever-present smile for everyone. John is survived by his parents, brother Hibby D. Wilkat, brother Thomas C. Wilkat, and his wife Susan, sister Judith Wilkat Stoner, and her loving husband John of Plantation, nieces and nephews Allison Stoner, Alexander John Stoner, Thomas C. Wilkat, and Ashley Wilkat. Friends will be received on Saturday at the Plantation United Methodist Fellowship Hall from 11 AM until the service time. A celebration of John's life will be held in the church at 1:00 PM. Entombment will follow at Lauderdale Memorial Park. In his memory the family suggests donations to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 5420 NW 33 Ave, Suite 100, Ft.
