Dr. Josette M. Mondanaro

MONDANARO Mondanaro, Dr. Josette M., 5/21/45 - 12/25/02. Early Christmas morning Dr. Josette M. Mondanaro passed away at Vitas Hospice Center, Florida Medical Hospital. She resided with her father, Mr. Anthony Mondanaro and late mother Alice Mondanaro at their home in Kings Point, Tamarac, FL. Dr. Mondanaro practiced medicine for many years in California. Highlights of her many professional achievements include, the establishment of Wingspread Clinic to treat and rehabilitate drug dependent patients, the founding of the Baskin, Mondanaro clinic that specifically concentrates on women's medicine, and was appointed by California Governor Gerry Brown to head California's public health Methadone initiative to treat the state's drug dependent individuals. Dr. Mondanaro gained recognition for her work and success in rehabilitating pregnant drug addicts. She was able, through treatment, to have her patients' be rid of their drug dependency early enough in their pregnancies to allow their babies to be born without the sometimes lethal effects of the drug addiction. Her son, Eden Mondanaro; father, Anthony Mondanaro; brothers, Anthony, Philip, Mark Mondanaro, and several nieces and nephews survive Dr. Josette Mondanaro. She was recently pre deceased by her beloved brother Robert Mondanaro and her mother, Alice Mondanaro. It is Josette's wish that any donations in her memory be sent to the Robert Mondanaro Scholarship Fund, Northport High School, 154 Laurel Hill Road, Northport, NY 11768-56.
