Modesta Tiballi Obituary

Tiballi, Modesta, 90, passed away on November 17, 2001 after a long illness. Modesta was born in Republic, Pennsylvania on November 28,1910, where she spent her childhood and thereafter attended the University of Pittsburgh. She resided in Detroit with her husband Primo, until they took up residency in Ft. Lauderdale in 1956. Primo predeceased her. She enjoyed the many hours that she spent as a volunteer at Holy Cross Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, together with her membership in the Italian American Civic League. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, She is survived by her 2 children, Mitzi Doumar of Ft. Lauderdale and Frederick Tiballi of Burlington Vermont, together with 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Modesta was the embodiment of her name and was lovingly referred to as "Nonna". She is also survived by her sister Flora Reagan of St. Louis, Missouri. She possessed a special love for her family, which shall live on forever in her children and grandchildren who admired and loved her deeply. She will be missed by all, for she gave so much love and affection to everyone. A great joy for her was driving her 'little red convertible" with all the kids aboard. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 20th 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Rosary Services will be at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass Wednesday, November 2lst 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1701 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Oakland Park.
