Neil Abraham Lash

Neil Abraham Lash obituary

Neil Lash Memoriam

Gone but not forgotten. Neil was born on June 10, 1936, in the Bronx, New York. He left this world for his heavenly home on March 25, 2019. Neil was fondly known to many throughout the United States as Rabbi Neil because of his superlative teaching gift which he shared along with his wife, Jamie, of 48 years, on their weekly television program Jewish Jewels. Neil was also the founder of Temple Aron HaKodesh in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, in 1976.

Like Abraham of old, Neil Abraham Lash was a friend of God. While dedicating the last 45 years of his life to teaching God's Word from a Messianic Jewish perspective, Neil's first career was as an engineer. As a Lieutenant in the United States Army, Neil worked on the design of the Emergency Power System for the base hospital at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He worked in the field of electronics and computer circuitry and programming from 1958 to 1983. Neil received a Doctorate in Educational Technology from the University of Missouri in 1973, and began teaching at Broward Community College (now Broward College) that same year.

On September 2, 1973, Neil had what he called his "burning bush experience" and committed his life to Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah). Thus began an adventure of faith and loving obedience, with Neil using his God-given gift of teaching to humbly minister the love of God to Jews and Gentiles alike, all over the world. One of Rabbi Neil's favorite sayings was: "With God, it's all about the heart."

We, Neil's family, are forever grateful to God for the gift of Neil Abraham Lash. He is survived by his "bride" Jamie, sons Jonathan and Jesse, daughters-in-law Nancy and Christine, and grandchildren Liam and Lucia. Also missing Neil are nieces and nephews: Ellen Poor, Richard Dallow, and Ron Lash.

Neil loved us well, and walked worthy of his calling. We are confident that he is hearing the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

I was blessed to travel to Israel with Neil and Jamie. I am grateful to God for the privilege of celebrating Sukkot in Jerusalem with them. Through their ministry I learned much about the Jewish roots of Christianity which helped me have greater understanding of the Bible and the God of my salvation. I will never forget them and the wonderful experience they provided while touring the Holy Land!

I did not know Rabbi Neal personally. I consider myself a student of his teachings. I’ve never been to his temple, but I have read Jewish Jewels over the years. Even today June, 2021 I am reading his writings, specifically, I just finished reading “Jewels from my journey” Oct 2013 pamphlet. A sweet blessing all of these writings have been to me since 2013 when I first began reading them. I know he will be missed, I will miss his spirit that I connected with through his Jewish jewels!

I give thanks to Yeshua HaMaShiach for the life and legacy of Rabbi Lash (and his wife Jamie as well). I came to know Rabbi Lash through his TV Show ‘Jewish Jewels’ (Praise Yahweh and Yeshua for the episodes that continue on here in Brooklyn, New York EVERY Sunday) and for that I am Forever grateful. Our prayers continue on for Rabbi Lash’s family (but we Know that we WILL see him again one day) and they are in our prayers now and always.

Neil was one of my instructors when I attended the Nassau County BOCES program in Industrial Electronics. I credit his guidance with forming my career . Thanks to him, I pursued both my BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering, and later became a licensed professional engineer in New York. Thank you Mr. Lash!

I remember when Neil and Jamie's first son was born. They couldn't have a baby for many years. I will never forget seeing Neil dancing all over with that little baby at Temple Hatikvah on Miami Beach.
May Yeshua comfort his family.
Neil and Jamie's faith was a great influence in my walk with the Lord.

My condolences. There are not many words at a time like this, but we can pour out our hearts to God, whom is a refuge for us.
