Rasa Szepelak Obituary

Szepelak, Rasa Marija, passed away Wednesday, March 25th after a long and courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Born in Chicago, she was 56 years old. Preceded in death by her father Vytautas Cepas, her mother Konstancija Cepas and daughter Kristen V. Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Gary Szepelak, and sons, Joseph of Plantation and Nicholas currently living in Oviedo, FL. Also survived by her brother Arunas (Roony) Cepas and sister Jurate (Judy) Scheffel (John) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a resident of Plantation for 10 years. Rasa was a Customs Broker for HYH International Cargo Services until February 13, 2009 when the ravages of the disease would no longer allow her to do so. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the ALS association. There will be no memorial services in honor of her wishes.
