Ted Scharf

Scharf, Ted, 89, of Pompano Beach passed Thursday, June 7. He is survived by daughter, Lesley; son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Ann Scharf; and grandchildren Lee, Kelly Ann and Sunshine Scharf of Pompano Beach; sister-in-law, Mary Powell of Texas; cousin, Mildred Reilly of Zellwood, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Longtime resident of Broward, Ted owned three hardware stores, the last of which was Beach Tru-Value of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. He loved the outdoors and he fell in love with Florida when he first came here in the 1930's. A decorated and disabled veteran of WWII, he will always be loved and missed by those who knew him. Funeral services will be Monday, June 11, 2012, 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Broward, 3301 College Avenue, Ft.
