Ted Scharf Obituary

Scharf, Ted, 89, of Pompano Beach passed Thursday, June 7. He is survived by daughter, Lesley; son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Ann Scharf; and grandchildren Lee, Kelly Ann and Sunshine Scharf of Pompano Beach; sister-in-law, Mary Powell of Texas; cousin, Mildred Reilly of Zellwood, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Longtime resident of Broward, Ted owned three hardware stores, the last of which was Beach Tru-Value of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. He loved the outdoors and he fell in love with Florida when he first came here in the 1930's. A decorated and disabled veteran of WWII, he will always be loved and missed by those who knew him. Funeral services will be Monday, June 11, 2012, 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Broward, 3301 College Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl 33314 or Humane Society of Broward, 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312. Arrangements entrusted to Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 200 W. Copans Rd., Pompano Beach, FL 33064.
