Barry Wingfield Obituary
Dr. Barry John Wingfield, 47, of Sherwood died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, while training for a half marathon.
Barry is survived by his wife of almost 30 years and the love of his life, Alicia; his greatest joys: sons and daughters, Daniel, Jeremiah, Mikaila and Katherine; and his grandson, Rhys — oh, was he crazy about that kid. He is also survived by his mother, Dean Wingfield; sister, Ellen (Matt) Binford; brother, Jeff (Judy) Wingfield; and nephews: Caleb Binford, Jake Wingfield, and RJ Coleman.
There was a joyful reunion at the heavenly gates between Barry and his father, Robert Wingfield; nephews, Tyler and Bryan Binford; his grandparents; dear friend, Dan Baxter; and a host of other family and friends who have already gained their reward.
From a young age, Barry loved the Lord and was passionate about living his life in honor of Him. He did that very well, not perfect, but faithfully. Throughout his almost 48 years, Barry poured selflessly, not only into his wife and children, but into everyone with whom he came in contact. While Barry's career spanned many states and positions, his legacy of gentle guidance, speaking truth, and above all, loving well will be remembered by all who were blessed to have known him. His visitation will be held at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ, 117 W. Maryland Ave., Sherwood from 2-4 p.m. Sunday and the funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the same location. The burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Evans Cemetery in Magazine.
To get to the cemetery from the church, in Dardanelle take Highway 10 West to Reveille Valley Road, then right on Martin Loop Road. The cemetery will be on the right in Magazine.

Barry was my roommate for a semester our freshman year at Harding and a friend dear to my heart and memories. God bless his family abundantly and may we all rejoice in heaven together some day.

Barry meant so much to me as a young Christian. Even though I was a little older, Barry took me under his wing. He introduced me to a ministry that still continues to this day. Prayers and comfort for Alicia and the kids. Fly high, my friend.
