Wanda Zena Obituary
Wanda Lee Zena, or Granny as affectionately known by most, passed away Friday, April 19 2019. She was born July 2, 1936 in Laura, Oklahoma, to Benjamin and Henrietta Merryman. She retired from Whirlpool with more than 26 years of dedicated service. Wanda was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and played on the Whirlpool softball team. She enjoyed fishing, working in her yard but most of all, spending time with her family.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Zena, three sisters and one brother.
Left to cherish her memory are five children, Shelia Standley (Donald) of Webb Citty, Missouri, Debbie Cole of Stigler, Cathy Zena of Fort Smith, Rocky Zena (Dena) of Greenwood and Ricky Zena (LeeAnn) of Fort Smith; two sisters, Glenda Bricker of Fort Smith and Lucille Fanning of Arkoma; 11 grandchildren, Stacy Cowens, Kimberly Anthony (KJ), Brandi Horne (Bo Youngblood), Joe Zena (Leisa),Shawn Mundy (Karen), Shanda Zena, Brittany Short (Brian), Tiffany Zena Fritchey (Jon), Colleen Fariss, Jobe Triado and Justin Sanabria; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home.
Service is entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home.

Ive know Wanda for about 35 years but the last five we have got closer. I would go to her house and cut her hair and we would visit about all kinds of things, i would tell her stories about Stacy and I back in the day, we would talk about my family,her family, about work, the weather, i enjoyed our talks. I love you Granny Wanda fly high.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I never got to meet her But followed FB posts past few years and felt like I knew her. She always had a smile on her face. She was loved by many and I know she will be missed by many. I myself will miss seeing her on FB. Continued prayers for the family. HUGS.
