July 20, 1979 - April 29, 2022
Joel "Joey" Haga, age 42, of Marion, Virginia passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 at his home.
Born in Marion, on July 20, 1979 to Lonnie and Bonnie Haga, Joel loved watching movies, playing computer games, solving puzzles, and traveling. But more than anything he loved being his father's co-pilot while flying their airplane.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony "Tony" Haga; maternal grandparents, William and June Rouse; paternal grandparents, Lonnie B. and Bradley R. Blevins; their daughter, Christine Surber and husband, David; and uncles, Forrest Kendall and Warren Rouse.
He is survived by his loving parents; very special friend, Jessie Stanley; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other family and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Bradley's Funeral Home chapel in Marion with Chaplain Jon Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to services. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday May 5, 2022 in the St. James Cemetery in Chilhowie.
