David Baden Obituary

David Scott Baden, 62, of Syracuse, NY, passed away on September 2, 2023. David was born in Long Island, NY on October 20, 1960, son of the late Gerald and Vera (Henkin) Baden. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and teacher.
David dedicated 30 years of his life to educating young minds as a middle school technology teacher. He was passionate about his profession. His commitment to education and his ability to connect with his students will always be remembered. In addition to his love for teaching, he was a talented Jeweler, and was known for his exceptional creativity and attention to detail. David also had a deep passion for motorcycles. He enjoyed the freedom of riding as much as he loved working on, modifying, and tinkering with his bikes.
David will be deeply missed by his surviving family members, including his wife, Teresa (Garofalo) Baden; his children, John (Jennifer), Alicia, Natalie (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Bella, Jackson, and Lincoln (Hotrod); his siblings, Karl (Liz), Eric (Helen), Andrea; numerous nieces and nephews especially Saskia, Amelia, and Paul.
He was a loving and devoted family man, always there to support and care for his loved ones, and of course his beloved dog, Stella.
David will be remembered for his dedication to education, his love for motorcycles, cars, anything mechanical, his skill at making beautiful things, and his unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, knowledge, and love that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
There are no calling hours or services planned at this time. By pure chance and the grace of God, we ran into each other September 1st. A great conversation and tales of yesterday brought so many smiles to our faces. We reminisced the 12 bars of Christmas, the F-16´s at Handcock Field, countless air shows, riding motorcycles to name a few. Rest in peace my dear friend, I´m so glad I got to say good-bye. Save me a seat Dave and we´ll finish our good time. Our sincere condolences go out to your family, you are in our prayers.

I transferred to Solvay halfway through my teaching career. Dave was someone I always looked forward to seeing during lunch or in the mailroom to have clever exchange of banter. He had a great sense of humor...very dry and very witty. He always made me laugh. So sorry for your loss, Teresa.

Not only was David a former student in my classes at SUNY Oswego he was a very good friend. We spent an enjoyable summer together helping build Hal Folls' home.

I'm so sorry to hear the loss of a good man. He gave me my first and best advice about the teaching profession: it's a passion and a career, but it doesn't have to be your life.
