Thursday September 4, 2025.
Rick was born in Syracuse and was a lifetime resident of Liverpool. He retired as a Service Technician after 30 years at Sysco. Rick was a beloved equipment dad for the Liverpool High School Marching Band.
He is predeceased by his wife of 30 years Barbara Ward, mother, Marlene Ward, uncle and aunt Gary and Gloria Black.
Rick is survived by his children; David Ward, Chris Ward, and Rachel (Lily) Nave, his father, Richard "Ace" J. Ward, sister, Margaret Ward, uncle, Steven (Meg) Black, cousins, Christine (Jason) Black, Sarah Black, Jordyn Striano, John Black, Carolyn Black, and many more loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also a long-time friend of Bill W.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Liverpool, 300 Second St Liverpool, NY 13088. Funeral services and burial will be private in Liverpool Village Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope for Heather.org.

Rick´s passing saddens me beyond words. We´ve been friends through thick and thin since our early teens. I´m happy that he´s reunited with his beloved wife, Barbara. Going to miss you man! I hope they have water skiing up thar! My condolences to Ace and Margie, and to his sons and daughter. The world was a much better place with Rick in it. See you on the other side
