Thomas Kotecki
Thomas Kotecki, 71, peacefully passed away on October 13th, 2010 surrounded by his family at his home in Los Olivos.
Tom was born on December 12, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio. At the age of 8, Tom's family moved to Woodland Hills, California, where he attended Canoga Park High School and Pierce College. In 1960, he and his high school sweetheart were married at Mission Santa Barbara. While living in San Jose, Tom graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in business. After a successful career in sales and marketing, he and his wife retired to the Santa Ynez Valley to be close to their children and grandchildren. In retirement, Tom was a driver for the SYV transit.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Carol; son Ted Kotecki of Lompoc; daughters Elizabeth Clark and son-in-law Steve Clark of Buellton and Laura Solomon and son-in-law Michael Solomon of Temecula; and five grandsons: Cassady and Elijah Ozimec, Drake Clark, Riley and Michael Solomon.
Tom enjoyed bicycling, hiking, traveling, reading, history, music, and delegating.
Tom's family would like to invite all of his friends and acquaintances to join in the celebration of his life Thursday, October 28, at 11 a.m. at Mission Santa Ines in Solvang, California. Tom will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
