Written by Tom Zingale in Father“s Day
A short tribute to my dad Anthony zingale. First generation zingale born in the United States this picture he is in his sixties in his bread baking phase. My mom talked him into retiring in his late 50s and they traveled the world hippie style several times. He never flew but they got stuck in India and the only way out was to fly so he flew for his first and only flight getting out of India. The guy made it through the whole world war II without flying. He was in the Navy a pharmacist mate and he got the nickname doc. The man was a natural a born athlete master builder, bricklayer they would build whole houses with a skill saw. And avid golfer he could golf his age - which is a big deal up into his seventies and was very competitive put a dollar on a golf game or a card game and he wouldn't lose. He died at 88 here in Tallahassee in a house that he built for my brother - I thought that was pretty cool. In those days dads didn't dote over there children he would either put me to work or he would be off working or golfing I do not regret that, he taught me work ethic and got me into the trades. Adults had lives in those days they didn't live for their children. But lived by example

Pop, I love you. I made your marinara sauce tonight in honor of you today. We had red wine, too. The girls are doing so well and Jeff and I are happy. It's what you wanted for me, I know. I miss you with all my heart. Oh,and I planted geraniums and watch your birds from where I work each day. You gave me so much to love and appreciate. Love, Susie
