A special strength endured alongside Buddy for years--his wife, Brenda. Her family, as well, so loving and kind. Basing her dependability and tenacity to live out his love of life, Buddy was nurtured. A beloved son born to them carries on interestingly with diversity so rare. Brenda, too, has her moment here. Her substantial contribution to Buddy's "go" is to be honored. Thank you, Brenda.

Today is April third 2008 and today I was told by a fellow teacher of Buddy's untimely death. I immediately tried to contact my husband because it was through their friendship I really knew Buddy.
He was a fine artist a master in the art of discovery and living true to himself. We send our condolences to all those who are family and to all those who treasured Buddy during his short stay on earth . I am just sad we unable to attend his memorial service. Two days ago I found a lovely long forged hook given to my husband from Buddy. We wondered how he was doing.... Fond thoughts of a great man. Buddy, may you enjoy the graces of the afterlife of earth. Someday we will all join you. Love and Peace to his beloved ones.

Buddy was/is someone who lives on in the memories and hearts of those whose lives he touched. I cannot think of Buddy without a smile on my face and a chuckle in my heart at the boyish charm and wonder which seemed the essence of his approach to life. Buddy, you have been a joy to this world and I am sure that you and Larry are having a great time renewing your terrific friendship in heaven. God Bless all those who loved and adored you, and my prayers and love are with those who so deeply feel your absence.
With much love,

Rhett,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Your father was a great man. I even remember his visits to us in kindergarten or 1st grade showing us dive equipment. I know you carry fond memories of your father as we all do. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Buddy's family. I spent many hours as a kid smelling the coal smoke beside my dad and watching Buddy forge away in that cool old hat. The file rattlesnakes and tent stake hatchets he made are still treasures to me. Everybody thought he was quiet, but he was always listening. You just had to get him talking about diving or spearfishing or relics or just about stomping through the woods. I'm priviledged to have known him. Although he may not have known, he had a great influence on my life. Some of us were just born in the wrong century. You'll be missed Buddy but I can only imagine the discoveries you're making now. God Bless.

Rhett, I am saddened for your loss. Buddy was a very special person and will be missed. In fifteen years of reenacting, some of my most treasured moments involve the trip to Sailor's Creek with Buddy. I experienced another side of your dad which I have shared many times with other Leon Rifles who never got to know the "real" Buddy. I will miss him.

My deepest sympathy to all Buddy's loved ones. As a fellow sailor and reenactor, Buddy and I had much in common and I will miss him greatly. His legacy lives on with the wonderful son he left behind. He is in heaven now...wearing his beat up hat and smiling down at us.

Granny Page, Lynda, Joe, KK & Family,
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this most difficult time.
"Eternal Life"
When the trying life is over
For this temple here on earth,
I would not have you sorrow,
Rather have you supplant mirth.
Life has had so many blessings
From the cradle back to dust.
You should not resent my resting,
But a tear drop if you must.
Please call if you need anything!
With Love & Prayers
