Cecil Glenn Core Cecil Glenn Core, 69, who retired after 40 years service with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 in Tallahassee, Florida. A celebration of Cecil Core's life will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church in Tallahassee, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to THUMC, care of the Missions Program, 3004 Mahan Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32308. Mr. Core was a native of Tallahassee and lifelong resident of Tallahassee and Wakulla County. He retired as a supply supervisor with DMV, which put him in contact with people from all of the state. A lifelong avid hunter, he was turkey hunting on the family farm a few days before his death. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force and a dedicated member of Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church. Survivors include five daughters, Cindy Wyatt (John) of Crawfordville, Charlotte Roman of Tallahassee, Pam Jaarfar (Wolfgang) of Austria, Laura Martin (Bryan) of California and Valerie Chason (Tommy), also of Tallahassee; one son, Alex Robinette (Sheila) of Tallahassee; one brother, Jerry Core (Marilyn) of Houston, TX; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Core and Maude Nails Core; a brother, Tommy Core; and a sister, Patricia Crosby. This is a celebration of Cecil Core's life so please dress festive.
