Dirk Van Gaasbeek Obituary

Dirk Gordon Van Gaasbeek Dirk Gordon Van Gaasbeek, 56, a professor of Criminology, died Thursday, October 29, 2009, in Tallahassee, Fla., and is survived by his wife of 30 years, Beverly Van Gaasbeek. The service will be at 4 p.m. EST Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Bevis Funeral Home, Tallahassee. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. EST Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Bevis Funeral Home (850) 385-2193. A native of New York, Dirk moved from Miami to Tallahassee about 17 years ago. Other survivors include one daughter, Melissa L'Amoreaux (David) of Crawfordville; two brothers, Peter Van Gaasbeek (Debra) of Tallahassee, and Chester Van Gaasbeek of Albany, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Malcolm Gordon and Johnathon Ross of Crawfordville; one nephew, Chet; and two neices, Jennifer and Susanne.

I miss my daddy very much. He was a great father. I am gratefull he was able to spend time with his grandchildren. I wish I could have said more to him but I know he listens to my prayers
