Don Schneider Obituary

Don Schneider

Midway - Don Schneider died at his home in Midway FL on July 16, 2021. His wife Mary and his children Amy and John, as well as his grandson Ayo saw him through to the end.

Don is also survived by his granddaughters Indigo and San, his sisters Cheri and Joan, sister-in-law Jeannie, brother-in-law Alex, and many nieces and nephews.

Don was born in Columbus OH in 1944. He and Mary and their children moved to Tallahassee in the late 1970s. His creativity and ability as an artist in wood touched many as he exhibited and taught over the years.

There will be no funeral or memorial except in the hearts of those who cherish him. In his memory, the family asks that kind gestures and compassion be practiced each day. Lifesong of Quincy (lifesongfunerals.com or 850/627-1111) is assisting the family with arrangements.

I knew Don at FSU from 19777 to 1979. A friendly and helpful guy and always ready to help an Australian adapt to the American way of life. We corresponded in later years when Don had established himself in the Art world. I have vivid memories of him and of our time together. RIP good man.

Don, my old friend! Do you still have that dress shirt I loaned you when we had our LM senior pictures taken? If so, I will stop by your part of heaven in a few years to pick it up. It was so good to get high school behind us. It was nice to know you.
