To the family and loved ones of Dustin
I arrived in Tallahassee a short while ago and was at the Pyramid for a short time before Dusty's passing. The say everyone has a twin, and he immediately reminded me of a family friend back home in upstate N.Y. He was a sweetheart and I enjoyed his morning rountine. The last morning I saw him, he held my hand under his face and held on for what seemed an eternity, which was not part of his morning routine. To me this is very special and I will forever remember his cuddle, for my young adult sons are still in N.Y.,where I am returning to tomorrow, and he gave to me a part of a sons embrace. Thank you Dusty, I will forever hold that cuddle in my heart and mind.

David, Denni, Dawn and Danny,
We are saddened to learn of Dusty's passing. We know the pain of losing a child and we hope that knowing there are others around who love you and are praying for you will bring you comfort in the coming days. Although it still hurts badly, know that Dusty is in a better place and you will see him again soon.

Dustin could create a game out of everything. He invited everyone to take time to play. He loved puzzles. He put his life together one piece at a time and taught us that life is a game and we can find delight and joy in each of the pieces. In the process he is now the missing piece in our lives. Dustin has gone off to find his own last peace to complete his beautiful picture. Terry and Moe Mckloski

Dear Dawn and the entire Rae Family,
I was saddened to learn of the passing of your brother, Dustin. I know you loved him very much. You even graduated a year early from Lincoln High in order to help take of him. You are a wonderful and caring sister. Please know that Dustin is now in a better and peaceful place. In God's time, we will meet him again.
I will keep you and your family in my prayers. May God bless and keep you all in His care.
Sincerely,
Brenda K. Scott

Honoring the Void
O shed a tear or two, if you must, for our time now ended, for dreams unrealized and hopes unfulfilled. Yet know the love and life we shared remain. Even as do you. For a time.
In memory of me, live to the fullest, for one minute of mindfullness echoes more than a decade of mindless busyness.
As for me, I go on to my next adventure.
Confident the smallest atom in the farthest galaxy obeys God's command, how can we, made of billions of atoms, ever be forgotten? The One who fashioned us from stardust and seashells and breathed in us a living spirit, creates, comforts and calls us still to rise higher and become more.
And so, despite the emptiness, honor the void in tribute to what once was; Bless the pain, as proof it was real and Light a candle of prayer in the quiet chapel of your soul to dispel this hour's darkness.
And only when you are ready, let go of even this. Do not be afraid. I shall live on in your heart as you do in mine and as we do in God's.
Seek me in the sunrise or in the pounding surf. See me in the autumn leaves or hear me howling in the wintry storm. Then you will know, as I now do, how yesterday's death gives birth to eternal tomorrow.

You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dustin came into my life many years ago and left a wonderful imprint on my heart. His joyfulness, I have never forgot. His funny sayings I have always remebered. I can't wait to someday again blow bubbles with him.
Thanks you for sharing him with me. <3

It was with great sadness that we learned of Dustin's passing on Tuesday. No words can possibly console you in your loss but know that Dustin is in that better place where we all hope to be when God calls us. We will pray for your family and will arrange to have a Mass offered for Dustin at St Louis Catholic Church when we get back to town. The Pullen Family (John, Gloria, Lori & AJ)

There are so many great memories of Dusty. I don't think I will ever look at a Cabbage Patch doll without feeling a tug at my heart. :) Dustin's mission here was to bring a smile to people....to put a little sunshine in the lives of everyone who met him. I will never forget the times he bolted like a streak of lightening with Denni in hot persuit. Man, was he ever fast!! Remember all of the spoons that got tossed up into the oak tree? Or looking for "stinkies" after school! My family was blessed the day we became neighbors. Dustin will always have a place in my heart.
Love and prayers,
Chris Spiccia
