Jacob C. Minor

Jacob C. Minor Jacob C. Minor, 88, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at his home in Tallahassee. He was born in New Orleans, La., and moved to this area in 1996 from Lake City, Fla., where he had lived for 40 years. He was a retired chemist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Naval Stores Division in Olustee, Fla. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a graduate of Tulane University. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Earline Minor; two daughters, Genia (and husband Wes) Mayfield and Janie (and husband Chip) Knight, all of Tallahassee; a brother, Wilson "Bill" F. Minor (and wife Gloria) of Jackson, Miss.; two grandchildren, William King Knight III and Maria Eugenia Knight; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. A private family service is scheduled for 4 p.m. EST today, January 12, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Chapel (850-893-4177), on Timberlane Road.
