James Gaff Obituary

James Henry Gaff, III

James Henry Gaff, III, 61 of Tallahassee, was born on November 14, 1955 at Broward General Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. He passed away on May 27, 2017 from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle while walking his familiar neighborhood route.

Jimmy, as he was affectionately known, attended school in Broward County and graduated with honors from Northeast (Hurricane's) Junior and Senior High School. There, he was a three year Letterman on the Swimming team and was a starter on the Hurricane's Golf team. After high school, he attended the University of Florida and graduated with a B.S. in Business. At UF, he joined the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, and was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa and Savant Leadership Honorary Fraternity's. His support for the Gators never wavered and he could be found watching and cheering the Orange and Blue anytime and any sport that was on.

He worked as the Payroll Administrator for the past 24 years at Interim Healthcare in Tallahassee. He also had the great fortune to fulfill his love of travel while working as a flight attendant early in his career.

He was a congenial, gracious, faithful son, brother and uncle with a passion for movies, music, golf, trivia and most of all family and friends. He was an engaging conversationalist and was happiest talking amongst company. He loved the family vacations spent skiing in Colorado, or playing golf with his friends.

Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, James Henry Gaff, II and Mary Anne Fisher Gaff.

He is survived by his brother, Robert Gary Gaff (Angela); his stepmother, Donna St. John Gaff of Ponte Vedra, FL; and his nephew, Robert Gary Gaff, Jr.

Jimmy and his favorite, "What happened?" greeting to all will be forever missed by everyone he spent time with.

The Gaff family invites you to Celebrate Jimmy's life with them at 3pm on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home - Timberlane Road Chapel.
