Betty, Gerri and I will always remember your family's thoughtfullness in taking us into your home when I was a new Trooper in Jacksonville. We are saddened by your loss and regret that we will be unable to attend the services. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. JJ was an outstanding fellow Trooper and a gentleman. He was always willing to help others and assisted me in becoming the Trooper I was. God Bless.

I had the honor of meeting Jim when I went through his firearms course to become an armed security officer. His instruction was among the best I had ever received. At the end of the course, I discoverd my vehicle had a dead battery. He gave me a ride home, to Orange Park. What A wonderful person he was. I never forgot him. I became a Florida state trooper several months after attending his course. I pray that God will bring peace and comfort to his family during this difficult time. I know he will be greatly missed.

My hero growing up was my Uncle Jimmy, who taught me how to hunt and shoot safely, by the time I'd reached 15. I have many happy memories surrounding just about every hour I was able to spend with him - this giant among men who stood taller than Paul Bunyan, with the skills of Davey Crockett.
I'll always remember you...

One of the most super men you could ever come across. Jim shot on the FHP pistol team with us and I was amazed when he changed from shooting right handed to left handed and never had his very high scores drop at all. He was a most gracious man who would share information with everyone he met. Always a giving person who we will miss greatly.

Mrs. Peters,
I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Mr. Peters was my instructor for conceal carry permit. He was a giant of a man in many ways and was an excellent instructor and tremendous shot. Thank you for sharing him with us.

Mrs. Betty and family I am so sorry to learn of Jim passing. Jim and I attended the FHP academy together in 1966. We both were Troopers in Jacksonville until Jim retired. I always respected Jim and appreciated his honesty and candor. Jim was always a standup man that loved to laugh and enjoy life.
