Julia Labat Obituary
Julia Loyette "Lett" Parramore Labat, 92, of Tallahassee, passed away September 20 at Harbor Chase Assisted Living Facility. "Lett," a Tallahassee Native and Leon High School Graduate, volunteered her time after retirement teaching Arts & Crafts at Lafayette Community Center and displaying her own creations. In particular, she participated in Pioneer Days at the Tallahassee Junior Museum demonstrating the art of tatting, caning chairs, and weaving baskets. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Tallahassee Chapter 119, a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church and current member of Christ Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son, Joe Labat and his wife, Marcia; grandchildren Sarah Labat & Jacob Labat whom she loved to spoil; brothers Vernon Parramore & Walter Parramore (Sue); brother-in-law Guy Robbins, Sr.; nieces and nephews Beth Kibbey, Joe Parramore, Guy Robbins, Jr., Duffy Robbins, Nancy Nelson (Troy), Ruth Ann Boykin (Brad), Patti Pittman (Travis), and Paige Fenner (Craig); and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Etienne J. Labat, Jr., and her parents, Walter and Ruth Parramore and a sister, Mary Frances Robbins.
A visitation will be held Sunday, September 23 at 3pm in the Bevis Funeral Home Chapel (2710 N. Monroe Street). The service will follow in the Chapel at 4 o'clock pm. There will be an interment afterward at Oakland Cemetery in Tallahassee.
