Linda Jo Mims Duval

Tallahassee - Linda Jo Mims Duval, 76 of Tallahassee, Florida went home to be with our Lord on November 26, 2018. She was born in Tallahassee, Florida on October 19, 1942.

Linda quit school after grade 8 to help her growing family. She later returned to school to study and received her GED through Adult Community Education at Amos P. Godby High School in 1981.

She was married to Phil Allen Duval on December 23, 1961.

Linda worked for the Leon County School Board Cafeteria programs for 35+ years. She started as a substitute, working in schools all over the district. She became a Cafeteria Manager and served students of the Teenage Parent Program known as TAP as well as SAIL, Pineview Elementary and Sealey Elementary. She went on to at serve schools all over the district as a Float Manager and was Assistant Manager of The Central Kitchen. She was proud to say she had two retirements from the School Board.

She was a member of Community Baptist Church and had a passion for baking, flowers, sewing, children and her family.

She was survived by her spouse, Phil Allen Duval. Her children, Susie and Mike Wright, Donna Malphurs, Phil Allen "Buddy" Duval, Craig and Allison Duval and Becky Duval. She claimed 17 grandchildren (not all biological, but all loved) Michael Wright, Jonathon Wright, Amanda Malphurs, Justin Malphurs, Makayla Duval, Brittany Zondervan, Justin Cook, Crystal Duval, Jennifer Duval, Tommy Faoutas, Aubrey Taylor, Avery Thomas, Hunter Duval, Joshua Burton, Zachary Burton, Ariana White and Ansley White. 3 Great Grandchildren, Michael Allen Wright, Skylar Malphurs, and Atlas Boatner. Her brothers Wilbur E "Buddy" and Barbara Mims, James Mims, Noah and Jannette Mims, Eddy and Beth Mims, Sisters Wilma and John Russell, Lucy and Woody Powell, Brother in law Amos Taylor, Sister in laws, Julia Mims and Ann Mims and her extended family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur E. and Mary Magdelene Mims, her son David Duval, her brothers Eugene Mims, Charles Mims, and her twin sister Rita Jo Taylor.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 28,2018 (Today) from 6-8PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home ( 700 Timberlane Road). A service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 2PM also at the funeral home. Burial is to follow on the grounds of MeadowWood Memorial Park.
