To all,
I'm so sorry to hear of Matt's passing. I was reading the FSU alum paper and saw his name listed. I was shocked.
Matt was such a great friend to me. I met him while in the Marching Chiefs in the late 80s, early 90s. I had just become a Christian then, and Matt encouraged me in my new-found faith. He was gentle, kind, witty, and a great musician. I'll miss him, but one day I'll see him again. May His Lord Jesus comfort you and be yours so you can see him again one day soon.
Play a heavenly tune, Matt. Thanks for being my friend.

I'm so sorry to hear about the death of Matt. I did not know him but I have been a cyclist for 19 years now and we are all 1 big family together. I rode the 6 Gap Century last year so I know all these roads very well. I had a really bad crash in France 3 years ago and was blessed to escape with my life. I have learned that every day we get is a blessing from the Lord.

I was greatly saddened by Matthew's passing. From the minute I met him I knew that he was a very special person. I'll always recall fondly the time that we spent together; working, sharing our interest in music and enjoying time with friends.

Devon------Am so sorry. All of us are heartbroken, yet we have unlimited respect and admiration for the gallant life which Matthew lived, and that is the way we will remember him, tall and handsome with the wonderful smile. Precious memories. I will never forget your and Margaret's visit in our nation's capitol when Matthew was just a child, a wonderful chapter in all of our lives. Our love to Carol and Mark.

Dear family,
I am glad that I was able to meet Matthew in person at our family reunions over the past few years. He had a love of life that was readily apparent. I know he will be missed by many.
May God comfort you and wrap you in his peace during this difficult time and in the days to come.
Love,
