Milton Chase Obituary

Milton Bruce Chase MARIETTA - Milton Bruce Chase, 80, who had been a football coach at Jefferson County High School in Monticello, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005. The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Castellaw Funeral Home Jonquil Chapel in Smyrna, Ga. (770-435-9038), with the Rev. Scotty Davis officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 344, Austell, GA 30168. He was a native of Roanoke, Ala. He was a lifelong deacon at King Spring Baptist Church and was a Gideon, a Mason and a Kiwanian. A World War II Navy veteran and UDT member, he received the Bronze Star and the Presidential Citation. He had a master's degree and Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Jacksonville State University in Alabama. He was a teacher and was the first football coach at Crossville High School. He also retired from Lockheed. He is survived by his wife, Louise Chase; two daughters, Robyn Chase of Marietta and Denise Griffith (and husband Garland) of Woodstock, Ga.; two sons, Mike Chase and Matt Chase, both of Marietta; a sister, Dorothy Noles of Montgomery, Ala.; a brother, Henry Ewell Chase of San Francisco; four grandchildren, T-Jon Thompson, Cody Griffith, Genny Chase and Dani Chase; and several nieces and nephews.
