Patrick Fletcher Obituary

Patrick Ward Fletcher

Patrick Ward Fletcher, 38, of Quincy, FL passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015. The beloved son of Duncan and Carole Fletcher was born on March 28, 1977. Patrick grew up in Quincy and attended Robert F. Munroe Day School, where he was awarded the Fighting Bobcat Spirit Award, and never missed a day of school; from Kindergarten all the way to Graduation, he had perfect attendance.

Patrick was involved in Scouting, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout, an achievement earned by only 7% of Scouts. His service project was the building a special wildlife rehabilitation structure for the St. Francis Wildlife rehabilitation organization.

After graduation from RFM, Patrick earned his A.A. degree from Tallahassee Community College and attended Florida State University and Santa Fe Community College. Most recently, Patrick was enrolled at TCC and was working toward a degree in Health Sciences. He was, more than anything else, a student of life with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.

Patrick had wide ranging interests and was passionate about everything he pursued. He loved to play golf, and was so adept that he was able to play both right and left handed. He treasured time spent with family and often would drop whatever he was working on for a bike ride, a golf lesson or for a walk to the park with his younger cousins. He was an avid cyclist and bike mechanic, loved disc golf and archery, and was an enthusiastic collector of music.

He is survived by his parents, Duncan and Carole Fletcher, a brother, Hal Fletcher (Julie) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, nephew Phoenix Bailey Fletcher and a grandmother, Joan Normandin. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Frances Suber Fletcher, Hal and Jean Fletcher, George and Bonnie Dresser and Jerry Normandin. He was well loved by all of his uncles, aunts and scores of cousins and many friends.

On Thursday, September 17, 2015, the family will receive friends at 10:00 am in the parlor of Centenary United Methodist Church, Quincy, FL, with the service to follow at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to Robert F. Munroe Day School. (91 Old Mount Pleasant Road, Quincy, FL 32352. www.rfmunroe.org)

My heart goes out to the Fletcher family. I will miss seeing Patrick walking by our house. He almost always spoke and waved and inquired about how Mary was feeling. He was a good guy.
He left us WAY too soon.

We City of Quincy electric employees enjoyed the time spent with Patrick just months ago assisting him with some electrical problems. He is and was a remarkable friendly young man. Gonna miss seeing him work in his yard and seeing him wave as we pass by.
