Albert SALEM Obituary
76, of Tampa, passed away on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015 at Tampa General Hospital. Born in Washington, D.C., Albert grew up in Wilson, NC. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he obtained both his undergraduate and law school degrees. Following graduation from law school, Albert relocated to Tampa to serve as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate, USAF, MacDill AFB, rank of Captain. After years of service in the Air Force, he began his private law practice in Tampa. Albert was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, both the Florida and North Carolina Bar Associations, Sertoma Club, Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher, Heartbeat International Foundation, Florida Justice Association of Trial Lawyers, USF Athletic Association and a 32 degree Mason, John Darling Lodge. Albert's greatest joy was being with his family. He considered himself fortunate to have all his children and grandchildren live near him. He also enjoyed working and was actively practicing law. He was an avid fan of his beloved UNC Tar Heels as well as local Tampa teams. He called Tampa his home, as he grew to love it and the community. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Teddy Salem; son, Albert McCall (Karen) Salem III; daughter, Anne Salem (Reale) Hampton; daughter, Nancy Salem (Chris) Jimenez; daughter, Mary Salem (Chris) Roberts; grandchildren: Sarah Salem, Hayley Salem, Alex Reinhart, John Hampton, Rachel Hampton, Brittany Laina, Alexia Stalpes, Devin Jimenez, Olivia Roberts, Holton Roberts, and Vivian Roberts; brother, Richard Salem; sister, Mary Salem (Bill) Thacker; nieces, Susan Salem, and Lizzi Salem; nephews, Will (Tara) Thacker, and Salem (Lauren) Thacker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Vivian Salem; and brother, Robert Salem. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 10 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 S. Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa, 33609. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Albert's name to Heartbeat International Foundation at 4302 Henderson Blvd., Suite 102, Tampa, 33611 (www.HeartbeatSavesLives.org) or Christ the King Catholic School, 3809 W.
