Carlos CUERVO Obituary
63, of Tampa, passed away peacefully, December 25, 2016 with his family by his side. Carlos was born in Tampa to the late Charles M. Cuervo and Aida R. Cuervo. He was a 1971 graduate of Jesuit High School and a graduate of Spring Hill College. Carlos was the CEO of Nebraska Printing and Lithography, Inc. which he successfully led for more than 20 years. His grandfather, Charles Cuervo Sr., established the family business in 1929.
Carlos is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia N. Cuervo; his daughter, Lauren N. Cuervo of New York City, NY; sister, Alma E. Cuervo, also of New York City. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his niece, Samantha Newhaller and nephew, Leland Newhaller; cousin, Gonzalo Garcia and wife, LeAnn Garcia; cousin, Norma Wright and her husband, Joe Wright; and his brother and sister-in-law, Daniel Newhaller and Ashley Newhaller; many other cousins and dear friends. He was a loving father and husband who loved nothing more than spending a day on his boat.
Honorary Pallbearers are Leo Diaz, Frank de la Grana, Danny Harlow, John Lippelman, Joe Lopez, and John Thomas.
A Visitation will take place at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 605 South MacDill Avenue, Tampa, FL 33609 on Friday, December 30, at 10:30 am. A Service will follow at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, 3607 North Armenia Avenue, Tampa, FL 33607.

Pat, I was sorry to hear of Carlos' passing and our missing the funeral. We were out of town at a family wedding, and feel badly that I was not there to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Carlos always treasured his good friends, and family, and will be missed by us all.

"Carlos is sharp". .Patty, Carlos' wife, (and my sister) said to me years ago. Carlos was 'sharp' in many ways...sharp in style, wit and intellect. He was known for his incisive, terse, pithy comments and his great sense of humor. Carlos loved Patty and their daughter, Lauren, and he loved his many dogs---and they loved him. May Carlos know great peace.

God is the creator of life. The bible say in Ps.36:9 "He is the fountain of life" If he was capable to give life to all creatures, without a doubt he has the power to give it back to them. All who have passed Jesus said in John5:28" Do not be amazed at this, for the time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out.

I am so proud to have had Carlos as my employer for four years, and even though that was many years ago, he left a lasting impression. I mourn his passing, but also count myself fortunate for having had him in my life!

Many thanks to the good folks at Jesuit for informing us of our classmate's passing. I have vivid memories of Carlos from 1967 until 1971. Having been gone from Tampa since then, he's still a robust, energetic rascal! Love to his family and blessings to a pal.

Carlos was my boss for almost thirty years, and in time of need, a friend. Despite the gruff exterior he showed to employees, he was a softie inside. He loved life, his family and his friends. This is such sad news. My husband and I offer our sincerest condolences to Patty, Lauren and Alma.
