Adele & Nicole:

John was an amazing man, friend, golf buddy, and uncle!

I will miss my Thursdays the most as it was the time I got to spend with John golfing, gossiping, and busting chops!

John always found a way to calm me down on the golf course whether it be making a joke or giving me beer!

The last time I golfed was thankfully with John at Nicole's course and I will never have a better round than that one!

Karen and I are very sorry for your loss, our loss, and every one's loss, as John touched so many people.

We love you guys so much!

I met John 28 years ago when we moved to Clearwater (I was 4 yrs old). Over the years, the Christman house became my second home and deep friendships have grown and evolved from this. The Christman family has always held a special place in my heart and I am extremely grateful for having known John. His witty sense of humor and his sarcastic demeanor has always been able to make me laugh and at many times, smirk with appreciation at his jokes. When I think of John, it is with a smile, and as I write this it is with a heavy heart, for he was truly one of a kind and a genuine person. To Adele, Michelle, Johnny, Nicole and the entire Christman clan, my thoughts are with you and I am deeply sorry for your loss.

TO MY BROTHER:
JOHNNY, SO MANY TIMES IN OUR LIFE WE MOAN AND GROAN ABOUT ANOTHER YEAR PASSING AND ANOTHER YEAR UPON US. THIS YEAR THERE IS TO BE NO GROANING JUST THE CELEBRATION OF LIFE. I HAVE BEEN SO BLESSED TO HAVE YOU AS MY BROTHER. GOD KNEW I WOULD NEED SOMEONE JUST LIKE YOU TO BE A CALM AND STEADY BROTHER AS WELL AS FRIEND. AS I LOOK BACK OVER THE YEARS, THERE HAS BEEN A CONSTANT AND THAT IS YOU. YOU HAVE BEEN A ROCK TO MY ISLAND. WHEN I NEEDED YOU, YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE. AS CHILDREN, I TOOK YOU FOR GRANTED BUT AS AN ADULT I REALIZE THERE WERE MANY TIMES IN MY LIFE WHEN I SHOULD HAVE THANKED YOU MORE OFTEN. LET ME SAY TODAY I LOVE YOU AND I THANK YOU FOR THE TIMES YOU WERE THERE TO LIFT MY SPIRITS AND LET ME CRY ON YOUR SHOULDER. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE BIG GIRL TO YOU MY LITTLE BROTHER BUT IT ALWAYS SEEMED YOU WERE THE BIGGEST OF US BOTH. LIKE THE ISLAND THAT NEVER CRIES AND THE ROCK THAT FEELS NO PAIN. THIS IS YOUR STRENGTH YOU GIVE TO ME. ALWAYS STRONG, THIS IS HOW I THINK OF YOU NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION. PLEASE REMAIN THE ROCK AND STAY STRONG BUT REALIZE EVERY ISLAND NEEDS RAIN AND IF YOU NEED TO SHED TEARS SHED THEM ON MY ISLAND AND LET ME BE THE ROCK.
I LOVE YOU!
CANDACE

Post Script: I wrote this letter to Johnny after he told me of his illness. I love him so very much it hurts.

As Ron said, The Christman family were the first people we met in "81" and were the best neighbors and friends I could have asked for. John would do anything for you. Our children grew up together and still remain friends. Ron and John's favorite beginning conversations were Hey Fool!!
My favorite memory was when I took John to my barber state board test. I had to do a face shave. As I put shaving cream on his face he says Vicki just don't slit my throat or you won't have a ride home.
Deepest condolences to the entire Christman family.

I knew John when we attended Keswick Christian School in 1963/64. We were good friends, often hanging out at the beach on weekends and fishing at Redington Fishing Pier. I remember alot of good times, and even though we eventually lost touch, I often thought about those fun days when we were both young.

Adele & Family,
We are sorry to hear of John's passing. He always had a friendly greeting and a smile on his face back in those "old GTE days". I'm sure the smile was bigger once he retired. Adele, we are truly sorry for your loss and our prayers are with you and your family.

Our beloved borther (brother-in-law) John was the most caring and thoughtful member of the family.
He was always hosting parties in his home for family and friends.
John was the glue that held the family together.
We miss him very, very much.
