Christopher VINCENT Obituary

VINCENT, Christopher A. passed away on November 12, 2022, at the age of 39. He was living in Tampa, Florida at the time of his death and had been struggling with a chronic illness since his early twenties. Christopher was born on July 8, 1983, in Rome Italy, to Jennifer A Sweet and Peter N. Vincent. He grew up in Italy, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Connecticut, and Arizona. He graduated from the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT, in 2001. He went on to study English, Philosophy, and Italian and graduated magna cum laude in 2007 from The University of Arizona in Tucson. Christopher was an enthusiastic traveler and lover of food from childhood. During college, he apprenticed in the kitchens of the Arizona Inn, Soleil and Terra Cotta in Tucson and decided to pursue a career as a chef. He studied at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park NY, graduating in 2009. He worked at La Cachette and Tavern in Los Angeles before taking a position with Canlis and relocating to Seattle. While in Seattle, he expanded his restaurant business skills and broadened his expertise in food science with a focus on food as medicine. In Tampa, Christopher pursued healthy eating ventures including juicing and whole foods, and most recently worked for Louis Pappas restaurants. Christopher was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Norman Vincent, and Sally Vincent, as well as his uncle, Joe Sweet, with whom he had been very close. He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Sweet, of Tampa; his father and stepmother, Peter and Cathy Vincent; and siblings, Matthew, David, and Sarah Vincent, all of Kailua, Hawaii; his maternal grandparents, Mark and Julia Sweet, and another dear uncle, James P. Sweet. He also leaves his aunt, Susan Sweet; and cousins, Ted and Gus Warmington, as well as considerable extended family and friends in New England, Rome, Seattle, and Tucson. He will be deeply grieved by his girlfriend, Cara Sardone; and her daughter, Lily. Following a private service, the family will hold calling hours on Tuesday, December 6 from 3:30 to 6 pm at the Roosevelt Room of the Flor Fina Restaurant in the Haya Hotel, Ybor City. The family welcomes all friends and colleagues to share remembrances of the kind, funny, warm person that Christopher was to each of us. Donations in Christopher's memory may be made to the Autoimmune Association or the Anxiety & Depression Association of America.

I am so shocked and saddened to hear this! I grew up next door to Chris and have nothing but the absolute best memories with him. We would rode our bikes, play basketball, build snow forts and we were constantly outside always finding things to do w the other neighborhood kids. My favorite memory was him telling his grandparents that he could never marry me bc I talk too much may you finally be at peace and all the love to your amazing family

I was devastated to hear about the passing of Cara´s boyfriend, Chris. I am Cara´s father, and she always spoke to me of how much she loved Chris, how well they communicated and understood one another, and how she wanted so much to live as a family with him, and my granddaughter, Lily. My best and latest memory of Chris was in February of 2022, when my girlfriend and I went to Busch Gardens, and met with Chris, Cara, and Lily. We had such a great time, and Chris was so nice and caring with my granddaughter. I was very impressed. I know Chris to be a gentleman, very intelligent, well spoken, and an exceptional chef, as well as a good looking man , especially in my daughter´s eyes. I will cherish the wonderful memories I have of you, especially the love you´ve shown my daughter and granddaughter.

Mi Amico, you and I may not have been drinking buddies but we were close friends. I know that you are in a better place now constantly putting awesome dishes together for your fellow angels. The time we had together as friends may have been short but I will never forget you as long as I live and hope that when I am called up you and I will eat and drink as kings together. Requiescat en Pace my friend.

Chris spending time with you and getting to know you is something that I will forever treasure. You and I shared so many laughs while working together and always had the most interesting conversations. You always knew what to say to make my day a little brighter. I loved working side by side with you and learning how things should be done in a kitchen. I will cherish all the time I had with you. I will never forget you and I will carry your memory with me always. Until we meet again my friend
